    Re: New Field

I've been wondering what's up with the new field as well. I live within minutes of the so called location and haven't seen any signs or construction going on. I know it's been raining quite a bit, but seriously...when are we going to start seeing some progress to get excited about?

Can't wait. Looking forward to it!

Obviously Rick and everyone is trying as hard as they can to make this happen. I am sure when they get the field finished they will inform us.

That was answered on the first page.

    Tthomas_83,

The land is on the same side as the Sonic at Aldine Westfield and Louetta.  The cleared land between the building just constructed (next to Sonic) and Louetta Rd. is where the field is being developed.

    Re: New Field

Its just a cleared lot at the moment, you can see some fresh soil without grass growing and a contractor sign out front but nothing that really stands out that says FUTURE 1PB FIELD HERE. It's just hard to be so patient when your trigger finger is itchen for a new field :D.
    Oops, did I shoot you?

That's what I was wodnering. I had seen an advertisement somewhere that showed a sign for 1PB in front of the area...might have been a picture from Quinn or something...but when I drove by, all I saw was the lot. Thanks for clarifying! :)

My question wasn't answered on the first page, actually. I asked when signs of construction would be noticeable. I knew where the location was. Thanks though!

    Re: New Field

I call BULLHockey, I have been by the site everyday since it was announced and it has done nothing but went down hill.  Fisrt the sign was up and now its gone, Fall07, winter07, spring08, by the end of school08, now fall/winter08, just quit lieing and tell the truth.  WE DON'T KNOW.  Funding an issue, permits, maybe you would get more help and donations if you would just tell the truth. Is there more call for Aldine-Westfield than any of the others? maybe give passes(monthly, yearly, Lifetime) for volunteer work to get the word out and make paintball the great sport that it use to be.  Maybe come down on the paint a dollar or two, can go to WallyWorld and buy more paint for less money (average parent for average child), get more quality paint at sales @ sports authority, gander, and online.

    Just my two cents

i understand ur frustration but GREATNESS TAKES TIME

it  will all be worth when its done. a feild cant be built over night.

it a long hard proccess, just like any other huge project.

but i know we will all appreciate the hard, long work done by

1pb when we see the finished product....

and those are my two cents....  :)

    Re: New Field

I can not speak on behalf of 1PB but I know this. Everyone needs to understand that things take time. Things could come up during construction and such forth and sometimes, surprises occur. Just because 1PB is building a new field does not mean that the 1PB guys are out there themselves digging and building the field. There are contractors doing the construction.. You guys want to get frustrated, blame it on the construction people. Things take time....so give it time. Go yell at the construction guys if you got the nerves instead of posting complaints.

This is direct at some of you, not all.

    Re: New Field

Woah woah woah Bonzai!!! How dare you say such a thing...haha DONT GO YELL AT THE CONSTRUCTION GUYS!

That would tick them off, and in spite of us they would take longer.....just go hit a pillow or somthing. Much more productive. Lol.

I'm not going to lie though, I've been driving over there for awile now, and I have yet to see much work being done. And the area left, is not looking as large as I had hoped. When the buildings that are there now(what are they, storage or somthing?) started being built, I was getting excited, but it sadly turned into not the paintball field I was hoping. But, due to work, and school I havnt played paintball in about 7 months, and this new indoor field will be the first visit that I do to break that spell. And only for a couple hours before I have to shoot to work. And personally, I'd much rather them spend the money to invest in a huge indoor field(I had a dream about turning Garden Ridge into one) than an outdoor field. Here in houston and the surrounding areas, it would be a bigger money maker IMO, but I am by no means a buisness man.

    My two cents.

    Re: New Field

The Aldine-Westfield location sure has been in "limbo" for a long time.

No doubt this is a major project and I understand there have been some problems. Of course, one rumor (I can't even recall where I overheard this) was that Harris County will not permit a castle structure to be built. Doesn't Castle Dental have such architecture?

Regardless, if it is something like this for zoning, then who cares what the outside facade looks like. Make that a plain box. It is what is on the INSIDE that matters!

One issue worthy of consideration.... an empty field does not generate income and revenue yet the tax liability remains. Something to ponder.

Having said this.... I am really looking forward to seeing what this new field will bring. Considering the new housing developments that have gone up very near to this location (I live on one of them) I can only imagine the customer base potential! No matter what is causing the delays, this field location is an excellent choice even if it is primarily airball or speedball type fields.

With regard to the suggestions of "word of mouth advertising" or "drumming up new paintball players", these are excellent ideas. My only question is "why wait?" Money is ALWAYS an issue for ANY large project, even if everything is in order. There are now three fields available for play and all are excellent and in good locations and each has something very special to offer. In fact, anybody who has not played on all three, I strongly suggest it. Personally I do NOT care for airball but that is all the Willowchase location offers. Still, I will be returning there for other reasons and the games are still really fun.

We can help, even if indirect.

    Best regards
