Old first-
1. As already noted at the game, enclosed hospitals were a vast improvement. Thanks to all who worked hard to get them set up, it really helped make the game more enjoyable.
New Thoughts -
2. I'm not sure how many players were at this game but it still seemed like a considerable number, which does tax the resources of the Excellent reffing staff. I am throwing out an ideal that I learned about while reffing last year at Viper's Deadlands game. Player Reffs - or known players that are know by many to fair honest stand up players that are given special abilities to bring off paint shooters, wipers, hot shooters, players playing on and general cheating or mis-playing to the attention of the refferees and for the refferees to be able to take the word of the player reff as the word of another refferee. This may be something that is not needed at this time, or is beyond the scope of the #1pb games, but I thought it a unique ideal and actualy participated in it's use and saw the effectiveness of it working.
Such as my example - I was working the back woods, when a yell went up for a referee. I went over to the two players in question, one of which identified himself as a player referee and displayed his id card showing himself as such. So there was a question of the other player having played on even though he had been marked. After discussion with the player and player reff we agreed it was not malicious the player was warned about playing on and reminded that he need to check himself for hits and play fair and don't assume all hits were bounces. This satisfied the player reff who did not think the eliminated player was malicous about playing on but did need a warning. No judge punch was issued, the player and players in the surrounding area saw what happened and knew to play fair all the time not just around judges.
This may be beyond what #1pb needs for the scenario games, but it is something I thought about when someone started the game shooting off field paint and watching the reffs sprinting all over the field trying to cover both sides of the fire fight. The did an awsome job and it make me glad to attend #1pb scenario games know the reffing staff does such and excellent job and I want to continue to see the reffing perform at such a high level to keep #1pb as one of the best paintball fields in Houston and Texas.
